Monitors for work and play: size, Hz, and panel type
The wrong screen makes a good laptop feel cheap; the right one turns a mid-range PC into a comfortable station. The question we hear most: “Should I get 27 inches?” It depends on desk depth, viewing distance, and the work you do. Use this checklist in the monitors catalog.
Size: when 24, 27, and 32 inches make sense
At 50–60 cm, 24–25-inch Full HD is still fine for office work. At 70 cm with two windows side by side, 27-inch QHD is usually the sweet spot. 32 inches wants 4K or more arm’s length — otherwise you start turning your head.
- Excel, browser, calls: 27-inch IPS at 60–75 Hz is enough.
- Photo/UI work: color coverage and even brightness matter more than Hertz.
- FPS games: Hertz and response time beat extra inches.
Panel: IPS, VA, OLED — pick a scenario
IPS is the office/design default (angles and stable color). VA is cheaper “cinema” contrast but shifts when you move. OLED wins contrast; static Excel all day is a burn-in conversation. Marketing names do not replace the job.
Hertz and resolution: who needs 144 Hz?
Text and spreadsheets are fine at 60 Hz. 144 Hz helps games — if the GPU can feed it. Full HD looks dense on 24 inches; 27 inches wants QHD for sharp text. 4K needs GPU power and 125–150% scaling.

Do I need 144 Hz for office work?
No. 60–75 Hz IPS is enough for text and calls. Keep 144 Hz for games.
Is 27-inch Full HD sharp?
Many people find it soft. QHD is the better 27-inch density. Keep Full HD on 24 inches.
Will a USB-C monitor charge my laptop?
Only if the port supports DP Alt Mode and enough wattage. Check the spec sheet.
